I own an iPhone XS and I must say, even after all these years, the A12 Bionic has held up quite well. for example, opening apps is still relatively snappy. of course it isn't as fast as the latest apple chips but it is still a great performer. tasks such as FaceTiming, Texting, Calling is easy for this chip, but I do notice that it starts to heat up a decent bit when peforming tasks such as calling, FaceTiming and gaming. About gaming... it's performance is pretty good and still holds up well in 2022. In a 1st person shooter game, frame rate remains respectable until it has to render multiple objects on screen, which causes it to have a very noticeable frame rate drop. My biggest problem is the heat the chip generates. It gets so hot to the touch it ever so slightly provides a mild burning discomfort if held long enough without a case. Battery life is decent but I cannot give a definitive answer as my phone as aged considerably. Apart with the slight thermal issue for certain tasks, the A12 Bionic is still a solid performer, even in 2022.
